My name is Maddie, i am a 15 year old cricketer from Nottingham. I haven’t been playing cricket for too long, i originally started playing because i was jealous of my brother and look at where that’s got me!! i play in EMWCL hundred league fo Cuckney Cricket Club and I play in the junior section for Edwinstowe Cricket Club!! I really love playing cricket, i have made some of my favourite friends and closest friends through this sport!!

Cricket Background

When i first started playing cricket, there weren’t many girls teams. I had to play in the mixed teams, sometimes the boys weren’t extremely nice meaning i struggled to enjoy the sport. Across the years after that i played in a girls team and it helped me enjoy the sport more. Me and my younger brother raised over 2000 pounds for the 4louis charity because we did 12 hours in cricket nets!! I played county cricket for a year and then unfortunately got dropped, this took a big toll on my mental health and the enjoyment of the game so last year i took a bit of a break for a bit!! But now im back and better than ever!

How I Heard About Maiden

i discovered maiden cricket because some of my friends were ambassadors. I have been a maiden ambassador since the end of 2024!!

Why Maiden?

I want to encourage girls to play more, i want to inspire them!!
